Problem. Solved.
Another recent project comes from a commercial hauling client, struggling with inadequate loading ramps. Their high-use flatbed trailer had original loading ramps that, when folded upright, created significant wind drag. The constant aerodynamic drag made hauling difficult on the driver and over time, degraded the integrity of the ramps which were showing signs of cracking.
Original Ramp
You can see here how the original ramp was full-height, even when retracted. The attachment points are showing stress and the ramp itself, is largely lacking reinforcement for heavy-weight capacity.
Thinking outside the box.
The details.
We got right to work engineering a set of ultra strong, bi-fold aluminum ramps to withstand heavy use and support heavy equipment. The design phase of a project like this is critical, and our team meticulously considers every detail—weight loads, support requirements, and user needs.
Notes about the new ramp design:
-
Industrial strength supports, both vertically and horizontally, to displace the weight of equipment during loading.
-
Reinforced attachment points on both sides, ensuring the ramps don't flex during transport.
-
The integrated mid-point support legs located at the fold, add stability and reduce any chance of sagging.
-
Unique bi-fold design that allows the ramp to fold over itself, decreasing wind drag and improving safe handling
Hearing directly from the driver how much easier and safer his job will be, with the addition of our newly fabricated ramps, is priceless. Each and every Outreach Fab project is built to last. But this isn’t the end of the road for this project. We will conduct regular inspections of the ramps to ensure they continue to perform well. We don't just fabricate equipment; we build lasting relationships
